AMERICA – A MORE SEVERE JUDGMENT

Does America Deserve a Blessing?

Many like to think that since America has been a light with taking the gospel to other peoples and since America has some Christian roots and since America has lots of Christian radio programs and prints lots of bibles etc that we will get some kind of special treatment or reprieve from judgment.

The United States will get a more severe judgement for the very reasons Christians claim America will get some kind of blessing.

Jesus shows us how He thinks of this in these following sayings of His.

(Matthew 11:20 [AKJV])
Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

(Matthew 11:21 [AKJV])
Woe to you, Chorazin! woe to you, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

(Matthew 11:22 [AKJV])
But I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

(Matthew 11:23 [AKJV])
And you, Capernaum, which are exalted to heaven, shall be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in you, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

(Matthew 11:24 [AKJV])
But I say to you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for you.

This is the point, not only will we be judged on the amount of darkness we embrace, but we will be more severely judged on the amount of light we reject and handle negligently.

Any sober appraisal will conclude with ease that America has not repented.

Today many are all giddy the Pence will place his hand on 2 Chronicles 7:14 when he is sworn in. God is not impressed with us repeating 2 Chronicles passages or that we place our hand on a scripture.

(Matthew 15:8 [AKJV])
This people draws near to me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

(Matthew 15:9 [AKJV])
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

“but in vain they do worship Me”

There has been no repentance. Remember, the temple of Solomon was destroyed because the children of Israel did not keep their end of the bargain.

Read the entire account of that 2 Chronicles 7 response of God toward Solomon’s prayer and see that it was for them at that time. All of Israel were considered, “My people” by God at the time. All of Israel needed to repent should they have wandered off. They did not repent. God destroyed their temple. To this day, they have no way to keep the laws of God and to this day, they reject their true messiah.

God destroyed their temple. To this day, they have no way to keep the laws of God and to this day, they reject their true messiah.

Read the whole 2 Chronicles 7 response from God, I’ll post it below, but go to your bible and read the entire account starting at 2 Chronicles 5:1 so you see the true and entire context. We can not build our belief system on cherry picked popular verses.

(2 Chronicles 7:12 [AKJV])
And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.

(2 Chronicles 7:13 [AKJV])
If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

(2 Chronicles 7:14 [AKJV])
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

(2 Chronicles 7:15 [AKJV])
Now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.

(2 Chronicles 7:16 [AKJV])
For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

(2 Chronicles 7:17 [AKJV])
And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and shall observe my statutes and my judgments;

(2 Chronicles 7:18 [AKJV])
Then will I establish the throne of your kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man to be ruler in Israel.

(2 Chronicles 7:19 [AKJV])
But if you turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

(2 Chronicles 7:20 [AKJV])
Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

(2 Chronicles 7:21 [AKJV])
And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passes by it; so that he shall say, Why has the LORD done thus to this land, and to this house?

(2 Chronicles 7:22 [AKJV])
And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore has he brought all this evil on them.

America is not Israel. All of America has not repented. All of the Church has not repented.

Listen to words of Jesus in the Matthew 11 passage again:

And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passes by it; so that he shall say, Why has the LORD done thus to this land, and to this house?
