Let Us Return To The Apostles’ Doctrine
First, people need to come to grips with the fact that they are sinners who have a problem with an extremely holy God who is willing to forgive them if they are willing to repent. Sinners abide under the wrath of God even if you believe in Jesus Christ. (Eph 2:3 & Co 3:6) No repentance means no forgiveness and no being saved from the wrath of God.
Jesus Christ came to save His people from their sins, (Matt 1:21) He gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works, (Titus 2:14),
Jesus said, “Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (Luke 24:46-47)
Repentance and remission of sins are tied to one another, you can not have forgiveness of sins without repentance.
To this end, Christ came and shed His blood on the cross of His death, (Co 1:20) being the perfect and final Holy Sacrifice and Offering to God the Father on our behalf (Heb 10:10), cleansing us of our sins so that we may repent and be baptized into Christ, receive the Spirit of the living God (Acts 2:38, Ro 6:23-24) by which we are made able to walk as children of God (John1:12-13), no longer fashioned after the lusts and sins of this world (1Peter 1:14) but as actual citizens of God’s Holy heaven as we sojourn here on earth, (Phi 3:20) working out our salvation since it is God who works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure (Phi 2:12-13), and increasing in sanctification (1Thess5:23-24) as we hold forth the words of eternal life (Phi 2:15) to a dark, rebellious and lost world as the ambassadors of Christ and His ministers of reconciliation pleading with the souls of men in Christ’s stead which is what it means to go in Christ’s name (1Cor 2:17-21).
(((repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.)))
(Acts 5:30 [AKJV])
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you slew and hanged on a tree.
(Acts 5:31 [AKJV])
Him has God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
(((Then has God also to the Gentiles granted repentance to life.)))
(Acts 11:17 [AKJV])
For as much then as God gave them the like gift as he did to us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
(Acts 11:18 [AKJV])
When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then has God also to the Gentiles granted repentance to life.
REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS
(Acts 2:38 [AKJV])
Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
(Acts 2:39 [AKJV])
For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.
(Acts 2:40 [AKJV])
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
This is the foundation of salvation. We must restore the Apostles’ doctrine to the Church. This is the only way one can become a member of the Church which is Jesus Christ’s.
Christ saves you from your sins and for spreading the gospel of repentance and forgiveness of sins to others.
Are we doing what He said?
What did He say to do?
1) (Matthew 28:18 [AKJV])
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All power is given to me in heaven and in earth.
(Matthew 28:19 [AKJV])
Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
(Matthew 28:20 [AKJV])
Teaching them to observe all things whatever I have commanded you: and, see, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen.
2) (Mark 16:15 [AKJV])
And he said to them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
(Mark 16:16 [AKJV])
He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned.
3) (Luke 24:46 [AKJV])
And said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
(Luke 24:47 [AKJV])
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
